PUBLIC TRANSIT
Kitimat has three public transportion sytems.
KITIMAT TRANSIT
Kitimat has an excellent transit system for a town of it's size. Buses run on a set schedule seven days a week between City Centre, Kildala, Whitesail and Nechako Neighbourhoods, Service Centre and the Industrial Area. All local buses are low-floor design and equipped to carry wheelchairs and/or scooters. Bike racks enable the busses to transport a maximum of two bikes at a time.
TAXIDART
TaxiDART provides door to door transportation for people who are unable to use regular transit due to a physical or cognitive disability. Individuals who qualify and wish to use the service must register first by calling 250-632-8666 between 8:30 am and 4:00 pm or by downloading the PDF of the taxiDart application on the taxiDART website.
Clients of taxiDART can take up to two taxiDART round trips (or four individual one-way trips per day) between 7 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.at the regular fare, which is subsidized by the District of Kitimat and BC Transit. Trips are booked by calling 250-632-7250.
SKEENA REGIONAL
Skeena Regional provides bus service on the Terrace-Kitimat Connector route and service between Kitamaat Village and Kitimat. There are three round trips on weekdays between Kitimat and Terrace and an early morning bus from Kitamaat Village to Kitimat.
